    Fiction
With a poet as a father,
an artist as a sister (and an aunt), a novelist for an uncle, and a talented seamstress for a mother, it was inevitable that I do something creative. I appreciate Punjabi poetry, paintings, and pants, but my forte is telling stories that matter to me.

    1984
As big a fan of Orwell as I am, this is not in reference to his 1949 dystopian novel about a repressive regime. . . . .but it does have eerily similar qualities! 1984 saw two catastrophic events in India's history: Operation Bluestar and the systematic massacre of Sikhs in Delhi organized by government officials. It is a difficult subject to broach because of its scope and layers. I am working on a novel based on the events leading up to 1984.

This project started as simply a way for my wife and I to document our six month honeymoon through India. Now it extends beyond India and to the many places we trave. View a photo slideshow of Kashmir or catch a video interview with an iPod toting Tibetan monk! And there's plenty more: check out travelogues, blogs, and even mini-travel guides to various places..
